Chapter 4, Verse 29

अपाने जुह्वति प्राण प्राणेऽपानं तथाऽपरे। प्राणापानगती रुद्ध्वा प्राणायामपरायणाः।।4.29।।

apāne juhvati prāṇa prāṇe'pānaṃ tathā'pare। prāṇāpānagatī ruddhvā prāṇāyāmaparāyaṇāḥ॥4.29॥

Commentary

29. Others offer pr&wa (outgoing breath) in apana (incoming breath), and apa-na in pra^a, restraining the passages of pr&wa and apana, absorbed in pr&n&y&ma (restraint of breath).
